Worldlink Daayitwa partner for evidence based policy making

WorldLink and Daayitwa partnership will promote evidence-based policy-making with fellowship offers for youth. The collaboration will help the entrepreneurship organization foster a youth-government initiative that aims at boosting youth participation in effective policy-making.

Nepal’s leading ISP WorldLink and entrepreneurship organization Daayitwa Nepal have formalized their collaboration on 10th February at a ceremony. Dilip Agrawal and Dr. Pukar Malla, the Chairpersons of WorldLink and Daayitwa Nepal signed the agreement papers.

With WorldLink’s assistance, Daayitwa will contribute to three policy-related subject matters in three years. Likewise, they have agreed to provide Daayitwa Nepal Policy Fellowship to three individuals.

These research fellows will be selected through a global competition on a range of topics. These are access to investment, youth employment, women’s economic empowerment, and governance reform.

Following this, the fellows will engage in policy research for 3 to 5 months. They will receive active mentoring from Joint-Secretary level officers from the concerned ministries. Daayitwa says 5 MPs and 5 other officers from the Ministries will help select 10 topics. These topics will be part of global competition.

WorldLink and Daayitwa Partnership to boost entrepreneurship

Regarding the collaboration, WorldLink Chairman Agrawal says the company extended its support to promote entrepreneurship in Nepal. He adds, “the pact will promote and preserve evidence-based policymaking to boost entrepreneurship.” He adds, “Our cooperation will help reform policies that will help create an environment for sustainable entrepreneurship. This, we believe, would compel Nepali students abroad to come home, and encourage those on the verge of leaving to stay put and start something in Nepal.”

Likewise, Daayitwa Nepal Chair Malla shared a similar ethos. He said that the cooperation with the ISP will help foster trust among the youth government and promote transparent economic practices. This will bring in new energy, hope, and motivation to the youths to march forward.

Being a technophile, I am particularly fascinated by the evolution of mobile networks in Nepal from legacy networks (2G, 3G) to 4G (with VoLTE, VoWiFi, eSIM) and the prospects of the upcoming 5G, and equally enthralled by the development of internet from the dial-up connection to the 2 Gbps XGS-PON fiber broadband technology and their transformative impact in the country.
