Xiaomi has taken off the curtain from Xiaomi 13 Series in an online launch event in China. The Chinese tech giant has brought two models under the series; Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro. These models are coming with the latest and greatest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Chipset and improved new cameras under Leica branding. Let’s know more about specs, features, and Xiaomi 13 & Xiaomi 13 Pro Price in Nepal (expected).
Starting from the vanilla model, Xiaomi 13 boasts a new design at the back with a boxy form factor. The Xiaomi 13 Pro also flaunts a similar design but has a slimmer body. On the back, both phones are sporting a squarish camera module with Leica coating on top. Gorilla Glass Victus is present on both models alongside an IP68 rating for protection against dust and water. The Pro model has a ceramic back while the nonpro model features a glass back.
Xiaomi has also introduced a nano-skin technology that is said to make the back panel easier to clean. The vanilla model is available in 9 colors; Black, Blue, White, Mint, Gray, Dark Blue, Red, Green, and Yellow. While the Pro one is available in 4 colors, Black, Blue, White, and Mint.
Moving to the display side, Xiaomi 13 has a flat 6.35-inch AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution. It has a 120Hz refresh rate. While the Xiaomi 13 Pro has a premium-looking curved Quad HD+ 6.73-inch AMOLED panel. It also retains the 120Hz fast refresh rate with LTPO technology for adaptiveness. Both models feature 1,900 nits peak brightness, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and HLG support.

The Xiaomi 13 Series is bring the horsepower of the latest and greatest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Chipset. This new TSMC-built silicon is based on a 4nm architecture. It has the configuration of Octa Core 1×3.2 GHz Cortex-X3 & 2×2.8 GHz Cortex-A715 & 2×2.8 GHz Cortex-A710 & 3×2.0 GHz Cortex-A510). It provides a 35% CPU boost than the previous generation and 40% more power efficiency. Also, the new Adreno 740 GPU is a gaming powerhouse with Hardware-based Ray Tracing capability for gaming. There is a liquid cooling heat dissipation system onboard as well on both models.
Both models are coming with new UFS 4.0 storage. However, the R/W speed on the 128GB variant (2.2GB/s) will be slower than the 256GB variant with 3.5GB/s. For the OS, both phones are booting on MIUI 14 based on Android 13. MIUI 14 is the latest iteration of Xiaomi’s skin for its plethora of devices. As for storage options, both devices pack up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB storage options.

Let’s come to the optical department now. Both models come with a Leica branded lens for some flagship-level pictures. Xiaomi 13 sports a triple camera setup on the back. There is a 50MP Sony IMX800 primary lens with an f/1.8 aperture and OIS for stabilization. For videos, it can shoot up to 8K res videos at 24fps with HDR. And the second camera is a 10MP telephoto shooter with an f/2.0 aperture, 3.2X optical zoom, PDAF, and OIS. Likewise, there is also a 12MP Ultrawide lens with 120˚ FOV and f/2.2 aperture.
Xiaomi 13 Pro as the moniker implies, features a 50MP triple camera. The main lens is a 50.3MP one with an f/1.9 aperture and Dual Pixel PDAF which is a Sony IMX989 1-inch sensor. It also has OIS for stabilization. Likewise, there is a 50MP telephoto lens with an f/2.0 aperture and 3.2X Optical Zoom. And then, the ultrawide camera is a 50MP lens with f/2.2 aperture and 115˚ FOV. For videos, Xiaomi 13 Pro can capture up to 8K at 24fps with HDR.
With Leica branding, both phones are getting exclusive Leica filters and other features inside the camera apps. The company has also mentioned improved night photography and videography. For selfies and video calls, both smartphones come with a 16MP snapper while the Xiaomi 12 Pro had a 32MP selfie camera. The selfie camera is still limited to capturing 1080p at 30/60fps videos.
For juice and power, Xiaomi 13 has a 4500mAh battery with 67W wired fast charging support. On the other hand, Xiaomi 13 Pro boasts a slightly bigger 4,820mAh battery with 120W wired fast charging support. Both phones have a Surge G1 charging protection chip with support for 50W wireless and 10W reverse wireless charging. And the connectivity features include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/6e, dual-band, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 5.3, A2DP, LE, NFC, IR Blaster, and USB-C port.

The official Xiaomi 13 price in Nepal can be expected to start from Rs.80,999 when it launches in Nepal. Likewise, Xiaomi 13 Pro price in Nepal might start from Rs.1,01,999. With the lift of import restriction, Xiaomi Nepal might bring it soon.
