Xiaomi Civi Series

Chinese Tech Giant Xiaomi is bringing its new Civi Series of smartphones targeting young customers. On September 22, Xiaomi confirmed this via its Weibo handle. It’s going to launch in China at 2 pm CST (11:45 am NST) on the 27th of September, 2021.

The accurate details about the upcoming smartphones from this series have not come yet but it’s likely that Xiaomi is bringing this series to replace its CC series lineup. The CC series debuted with Xiaomi CC9 in 2019 with flaunting color and design. Likewise, the upcoming Civi series is expected to follow the same path implying impressive design language and stellar photography capabilities.

As from the above unboxing video, we can view a rainbow color design box and inside, a gorgeous-looking Xiaomi Civi smartphone. The round-shaped main camera on the rear side seems to be a 1-inch sensor, currently the largest smartphone camera sensor very similar to Sharp Aquos R6’s. The larger sensor size may also point towards inbuilt gimbal-styled stability. If it happens to be true, it will be a stellar camera phone. There are also two secondary cameras below the main one.

Coming up on the front side, there is a punch-hole display with curved sides. The phone is clearly running the Chinese MIUI 12.5 version. Rumors have it that it will be coming with Dolby stereo speakers. A peculiar Xiaomi phone feature like an IR blaster is also expected. However, please take these speculations with a pinch of salt because it is an unofficial one.

Xiaomi Civi Series Availability

The upcoming Civi series sounds promising for young customers but its availability outside China is still doubtful. The previous CC series was exclusive to the Chinese market only. India & Nepal have become prominent markets for Xiaomi phones like Mi (Now Xiaomi), Redmi & Poco series in South Asia. Xiaomi Fans would definitely love to see the new Civi lineup too. So whether it’s arriving outside the Chinese market or not, we will know on September 27th. Till then, stay tuned!
