Xiaomi launches Redmi Note 9 Pro in Nepal, which is also the most awaited note 9 series phone here. This is the third smartphone launched by Xiaomi in this lockdown. Redmi Note 9 Pro has a 6.67-inch FHD+ LCD display with a brightness of 450 nits and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The refresh rate on the screen is 60 Hz and the top of the screen has a hole-punch camera. The large and crisp screen makes it look good for watching movies on the phone. The screen has Standard mode, Sunshine mode, Night mode, and Color temperature adjustment along with anti-oil and an anti-fingerprint protective coating.
Redmi Note 9 Pro is an upgrade over the popular predecessor Redmi Note 8 Pro in terms of the Qualcomm processor (vs Mediatek processor) and better battery capacity.
The phone is powered by a Snapdragon 720G SoC (1.8 GHz) built over the 8nm process, with Adreno A618 GPU. Similarly, the phone has 4GB and 6GB of RAM. Whereas there is a storage variant of 64 GB and 128 GB. There is also an option for an extra SD slot that can be expanded up to 512 GB.
The phone support 4G in band 3 that is there with all the telecom operators of Nepal. But it doesn’t support band 20 that is the additional 4G band used by Nepal Telecom.
Regarding the security, the phone includes a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, perfect for gamers.
The phone has a whopping battery size of 5020 mAh battery with USB type C connector and can charge with 18W fast charging. The phone has a dual nano-SIM slot and dual 4G support.
Regarding the rear camera, the phone has a quad-camera setup with the main lens of 48 MP, f/1,79 aperture, 1/2.25 inch CMOS image sensor, 1.6μm 4-in-1 Super Pixel. Other cameras on the phone are 8 MP Ultra-wide camera, 119 degrees, f/2.2, 5 MP macro, and 2MP depth sensor. The camera has a PDAF feature along with a 10X digital zoom.
When it comes to the front camera, there is a 16MP lens with HDR and full HD, slow-mo video recording. Both the front and the rear camera comes with AI scene recognition and beautify features.
Regarding the OS, the phone runs on MIUI 11 over Android 10. The phone has a P2i splash-proof nano-coating that protects the device from water.
Redmi Note 9 Pro is priced at NRs 29,999 for the 6GB+128 GB variant, which is the only version available right now. While looking at the price, we are sure this phone will allure Xiaomi fans to buy. Although there are three color variants; Aurora Blue, Glacier White, and Interstellar Black, Xiaomi launches the interstellar black color only for now.
