NTC’s VoLTE calls issue has been resolved after the telco’s latest 4G upgrade. Apparently, some users had noticed that immediate back-to-back calls were not possible on NTC’s VoLTE but now they can take a relief.

Nepal Telecom (NTC) upgraded its 4G system with which the issue relating to calls on VoLTE has subsided.

What Was NTC’s VoLTE Calls Issue?

NTC’s VoLTE issue was not common across all the users. However, some VoLTE subscribers noticed that they could not make instant back-to-back calls. Whenever they dialed their next number after hanging up the previous call, they were met with ‘call ended’ notice.

After a VoLTE call ends, the end of call summary pops up that displays the charges for the last call and the remaining balance. But some users received this pop-up while making another call after hanging up the first one.

NTC had admitted to Techpana that this issue persisted in their system radars too. Quoting a source, it wrote that the present solution to the issue was to turn off VoLTE.

NTC has been coordinating with the vendors to resolve and improve the service. The 4G-based call feature is just 6 months old here and could be subject to some issues.

What is VoLTE?

VoLTE stands for Voice over LTE. It is a 4G-based next-gen voice calling feature which allows the subscribers to talk and browse the internet simultaneously. This is not possible on 3G and on 4G the network falls back on either 3G or 2G to make the voice calls with the data turned off. However, with VoLTE, the users can enjoy HD voice calls and advanced mobile broadband together on their phones. Find all of the top features of VoLTE.

NTC has been adding support for VoLTE on many smartphones over the months. The feature is available on Samsung, iPhones, Nokia, Xiaomi, Vivo, and others. The telco has just added the VoLTE feature on OPPO phones too.

NTC is the only telecom operator in Nepal which has introduced the feature so far. Ncell, the private telecom company has also begun working for its own VoLTE service. Check out: Ncell VoLTE activation process
