A Republic of Moldova-based telecom company Moldcell has launched its digital financial service called ‘Moldcell Money’. The telco is part of CG Corp Global, a Nepali investment company operated by Chaudhary Group (CG). The launch of the service also marks CG’s entry into the digital financial service.
Nirvana Chaudhary, General Manager of CG and Board Chairman of Moldcell unveiled the service at an event.
With the launch, the telco became the first in the country to provide such a service. The aim behind Moldcell Money is to aid the national digitalization strategy aimed at promoting a cashless economy and financial inclusion.
During the launch event of the new service, Mr. Chaudhary shared that the service is a milestone in CG Corp Global’s global strategy to bring Nepal to the world. “As we know Digitization is the future of any industry, which drives the world forward. And today, as CG Corp Global’s latest digitization initiative continues, Moldcell is the first telecom company in Moldova to launch its mobile financial services – Moldcell Money, a whole new level of comfort, simplicity, and synergy on your Moldcell smartphone,” he said.
Similarly, Moldcell General Director Carolina Bugaian shared her own delight at the launch of the new service. “For 22 years, we are more than a mobile phone operator. We are a provider of digital solutions that promote digital inclusion regardless of age, income, or origin,” she said.

Moldcell Money allows an all-net payment from the digital wallet
Moldcell Money will let users on any mobile network in Moldova easily transfer money and pay for services directly from their digital wallet. The service is available on the telco’s Moldcell Money application.
Likewise, the online payment service has a feature that allows paying with a Moldcell number. Users can make payments without the need for banks’ payment cards or cash. Users can pay using the ‘My Moldcell App‘ or through an SMS code. The company says the app ensures the security of users’ personal data and instant payment.
CG is also growing its presence in Nepal’s communication services. The business house has burst into the ISP market with CG Net and has been very smart ever since launching innovative services such as Nepal’s first postpaid internet plan. the company also launched a free internet trial strategy, another first in the industry. CG has long wanted to start a telecom service with CG Telecom and when that happens, we can expect Moldcell Money-like service here too, or before with its dedicated digital payment service. The group has already impressed the industry with its unique strategies and services in its ISP business.
CG bought Moldcell for $ 31.5 Million in 2020 from Telia.
