Best midrange camera phones in Nepal

Midrange phones have improved a lot with high refresh rate screens, promising cameras & performance. Especially, smartphones under 35K are the choice of the budget customers in Nepal. The camera is one of the prominent functions of a phone that has to be considered wisely before purchasing one. Quad camera setups are mushrooming for midrange segments. While in most of the phones, that 2MP+2MP depth and macro sensors are just gimmicked to lure customers. One should consider the actual camera quality, dynamic range, low light performance, EIS for video stabilization. Are you looking for the best mid-range camera-focused phones in Nepal? Here are our top 5 picks with the best camera performance, that too under Rs.35,000 in Nepal.

5. Redmi Note 10S

The budget device from Xiaomi, Redmi Note 10S sports the commonly used 64MP camera sensor. Equipped with a Mediatek Helio G95 chipset, the quad-camera setup for this phone is 64MP+8MP+ 2MP+2MP. The primary 64MP sensor with f/1.8 aperture produces some nice detailed images in daylight conditions. The normal shots are handled with 16MP resolution for the main camera. Pictures from the 8MP ultrawide lens are nice in the daytime while under low light, it tends to get poor. As expected, the 2MP macro lens produces just average pictures, nothing to be fond of.

The hole punch display houses a 13MP camera that outputs nice selfies. The edge detection is also good for portrait shots. Color accuracy however is not perfect for the front camera. For video, it can shoot up to 4K @30 fps & 1080p @30/60fps. EIS seems to work just fine for 1080p 30fps videos. The price for Redmi Note 10S is Rs. 25,999 for 6/64GB & Rs. 27,999 for the 6/128GB variant.

4. Samsung Galaxy M32

Samsung Galaxy M32 with Mediatek Helio G80 chipset features a typical quad camera setup. The primary one is a 64MP shooter, followed by 8MP Ultrawide & 2MP + 2MP depth & macro lens. The front camera is 20MP. You can get good pictures from the main camera in broad daylight conditions. The dynamic range looks good enough. While pictures from 8MP Ultra-wide tend to be darker. The FOV is nice though with 123° for ultrawide shots. Macro shots are not that great with a 2MP macro lens.

Low-light performance is good with artificial light available. For darker scenarios, it produces grainy pictures. Meanwhile, the front 20MP shooter outputs above-average selfies. The 1080p 30fps video doesn’t seem stabilized at all. It’s quite shaky & the video quality is just average. The price of Galaxy M32 in Nepal for the 4/64GB variant is Rs.24,999 & exceeds up to Rs.27999 for the 6/128GB variant.

3. Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite

The slimmest device on this list is the Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite. Powered by Snapdragon 732G, this device comes with a 90Hz Full HD+ AMOLED screen & a triple camera setup, 64MP+8MP+5MP. The main camera captures true-to-life colors pictures with medium saturation. The 64MP mode can add more charm & details. Ultra-wide shots from the 8MP camera are nice under broad daylight situations while it tends to perform below average in low light situations. The 5MP macro lens output good close-up shots than the usual 2MP ones.

The 16MP front camera can click some nice selfies with various AI customizations. Also, it can shoot up to 1080p 30fps video from the front camera. On the video front, Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite captures stable video by using EIS on 1080p 30fps resolution. For 60fps, the stabilization doesn’t seem to work properly. The dynamic range is also fair in the daytime. Low-light videos will however produce grainy videos. Overall, this device is one of the best in this range for video stabilization. The price is set at Rs.34,999 for the 6/128GB variant.

2. Realme 8

Realme 8 is one of the best midrange camera phones in Nepal on this list. Powered by the Helio G85 chipset on board, the quad-camera setup on this phone includes 64MP+8MP+2MP+2MP lenses. The main camera captures amazing pictures in the daylight with 16MP resolution. The 64MP model adds more colors & a bright tone with a nice amount of bokeh. Portrait mode is also one of the best with a decent amount of background blur. Not only humans, but it can also capture stellar portrait shots of objects & monuments. Similarly, the Ultrawide camera can also capture decent shots with 119° FOV.

As usual, the 2MP macro & 2MP depth are no less than gimmicks. That’s why macro shots are nothing to be fond of. The low light mode works nicely for artificial lighting environments while it goes below average when there is the least light available. The front camera is good at taking portrait shots with tons of AI features. The only downside of this device is shaky videos despite having EIS. It can shoot 1080p @30/60fps and goes up to 4K 30fps. Stabilization is poor for videos. Dynamic range is hit or a miss. The price of Realme 8 is Rs. 28,799 for the 6/128GB variant.
