WiFi Nepal Internet in Nepal | Packages, Price, And Availability

Wifi Nepal ISP

WiFi Nepal is one of the newest internet service providers (ISPs) in Nepal offering the cheapest of internet packages. Due to its over-the-top affordable offerings, the company made its name earlier and stamped its influence in the internet market of the country. However, we can now see some readjustments in its latest packages. Let’s find them in detail below.

Last year in June 2022, WiFi Nepal raised eyebrows when it launched the country’s cheapest internet package “50 Mbps for just Rs 333”. Despite the high-octane internet speed/price war, this offer was still stunning. However, as the market evolved, the company revised its regular packages in 2023.

Currently, WiFi Nepal provides its fiber internet packages in three categories- Broadband Plans, Kistama Internet, and Day Surfing Packages.

WiFi Nepal- Broadband Internet Packages

WiFi Nepal’s regular internet plans under its “Broadband Plans” are available for two internet speed packages for three different validity plans. The 50 Mbps internet package costs Rs 850 for 1 month, Rs 2,300 for 3 months, and Rs 8,600 for 1 year. Similarly, the 80 Mbps plan costs Rs 950 every month, Rs 2,575 for 3 months, and Rs 9,600 for an annual plan.

 WiFi Nepal broadband plans1 Month3 Months1 Year
50 MbpsRs 850Rs 2,300Rs 8,600
80 MbpsRs 950Rs 2,575Rs 9,600

The 50 Mbps plan was the company’s basic and most popular plan when it ventured into the internet scene. The 80 Mbps package though still not premium by today’s standards is still decent enough to meet most of our normal internet needs.

Likewise, the cost for the package has risen from Rs 333 for 50 Mbps to 850 a month and Rs 533 to Rs 950 a month for the 80 Mbps package. But the affordable tag does translate to the “one-time installation” charge. It would help if you also counted 13% VAT in the price above for your real-life charges.

One-time charges

To get a WiFi Nepal internet package, you need to pay for the drop cable and the router. If you are buying a one-month internet package, you need to pay Rs 1,000 for the drop wire. Similarly, it costs Rs 750 for a 3-month package, and Rs 500 for an annual subscription.

The router costs Rs 1,500 for a month, Rs 1,250 for 3 months, and Rs 1,000 for a 1-year package. Don’t forget to add an extra 13% VAT and other taxes to the charges above.

 Installation Cost1 Month3 Months1 Year
Drop CableRs 1,000Rs 750Rs 500
Single Band RouterRs 1,500Rs 1,250Rs 1,000

At the moment, the company only provides a single-band router as per the website. We suppose it’s a cost-cutting measure but you can expect a dual-band upgrade soon in the future as it’s currently the norm. A dual-band router significantly elevates your home WiFi internet connection. Here, find out the reasons you should upgrade to a dual-band router.

WiFi Nepal EMI Internet Plan– “Kistama Internet”

WiFi Nepal has been innovative with its internet package at least with this EMI  plan which is available for a 12-month renewal basis. The company is providing this plan for both its 50 Mbps and 80 Mbps internet packages.

In this package, you get an annual 50 Mbps package for Rs 8,600. The package includes Rs 500 for drop wire and RS 1,000 for single-band router. In total, the package cost becomes Rs 10,100 for a year with monthly EMI being Rs 842 a month.

Similarly, the 80 Mbps package costs Rs 9,600 while the drop cable and the router costs Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 respectively. The total package cost becomes Rs 11,100 per month with EMI being Rs 925 for up to 12 months.

“12 Months”
50 Mbps80 Mbps
InternetRs.8,600Rs.9,600
Drop Cable *Rs.500Rs.500
Single Band Router *Rs.1,000Rs.1,000
TotalRs.10,100Rs.11,100
Monthly EMIRs. 842Rs. 925

If you are not paying the total sum at once but would love to use an installment-based payment, it’s a unique and ideal way as the cost burden is also handled while you get a standard internet speed as well.

Day surfing package

WiFi Nepal has another unique deal for you- it’s a Day Surfing Package that allows you to surf the internet from 6 AM to  PM. The plan is available only for the 50 Mbps package for three different renewal basis.

You can get a 3-month package for Rs 1,200, or 6-month package for Rs 2,100, and a 12-month package for Rs 3,600. As you can see, the costs for the day surfing are less than the regular Broadband Plan which compensates for the “off-hours” post 8 AM till 6 AM. But this package may not be for all.

50 MbpsRs.1,200Rs.2,100Rs.3,600

If your internet needs don’t surpass after 8 PM, then it could fit your plan otherwise, it’s not going to be a popular choice as time restriction keeps you locked out of the internet throughout the night.

How to subscribe?

The company has opened online booking for its affordable internet packages. To buy a package, you need to click here, click on ‘Book Now’, and submit your details.

WiFi Nepal Availability, Cities

Is WiFi Nepal in Pokhara? Yes. The good thing is the company has expanded its service well across many cities in Nepal at a steady pace. Currently, the company’s internet service is available in Surkhet, Nepalgunj, Butwal, Manigram, Bhairahawa, Pokhara, Damauli, Hetauda, Simara, Birgunj, Chitwan, Kathmandu, Janakpur, Lahan, Dharan, Itahari, Biratnagar, Damak, and Birtamod. In the meantime, the company is in a plan to start its service in Dhangadhi, Ghorahi, and Banepa.

Verdict

WiFi Nepal is just a year-old ISP that aims to make a name for being a generous company for its internet packages. And there’s a fair credit due to it, however, the company has felt compelled to ditch its legacy pricing and raise it to sustain perhaps. Anyway, the packages are still affordable by a few hundred if you compare them month by month. But there are some caveats. The company doesn’t include an IPTV service with its internet packages. There’s no dual-band router either.

However, the EMI and Day Surfing packages could be beneficial to many who want budget internet service with some compromises. The 50 Mbps and 80 Mbps speeds don’t sound very appealing either but they are still more than decent enough for a regular internet user.

So, it’s up to you how much internet bandwidth you tend to consume and at what hour to decide if you want a WiFi Nepal internet service for your home connection. For any queries, let us know in the comments below.
